What We Collect

When you use We The Me, we collect only what you provide during the constitution-building process:

  • Your answers to the guided reflection questions
  • Your first name, last name, and email address (if you choose to provide them)
  • Any documents you upload for additional context (e.g., existing personal statements)

How Your Data Is Processed

Your answers and uploaded documents are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your Personal Constitution. This processing happens in real time and is not stored on our servers. Once your constitution is generated, it exists only in your browser session.

We do not maintain a database of user answers, generated constitutions, or uploaded documents. If you close or refresh your browser tab, your data is gone.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Anthropic Claude API — processes your answers to generate your constitution. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
  • HubSpot — used for email collection and contact management if you provide your email address.
  • Resend — used to deliver your constitution via email if you choose to email it to yourself.
  • Vercel Analytics — collects anonymous, aggregated usage data (page views, performance metrics). No personal data is tracked.

Data Retention

Your answers and generated constitution are not stored on our servers. The generated document exists only in your browser session. Once you close the tab, the data is no longer accessible to us or anyone else.

If you provide your email address, it may be stored in HubSpot for communication purposes. You can request its removal at any time.

Cookies

We The Me uses minimal cookies. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies that identify individual users. Any cookies present are strictly functional (e.g., HubSpot's tracking script may set cookies for its own analytics).

Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are a resident of the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • The right to access any personal data we hold about you
  • The right to rectification of inaccurate data
  • The right to erasure (the right to be forgotten)
  • The right to restrict processing of your data
  • The right to data portability
  • The right to object to processing

Since we do not store your answers or generated constitutions server-side, most of these rights are satisfied by default. For any data held in HubSpot (email address, name), you can exercise these rights by contacting us.
